Porada are giving you the chance to win a part of €10,000 and your chance to have your own furniture idea to be added to the collection that is seen all over the world. This is a once in a lifetime chance to get a prototype of your idea made and start your career in furniture design. The design award is sponsored by PORADA ARREDI Srl and POLI.design, under the patronage of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design.
The design award this year is based on small tables and you have to enter by November 10th 2017 to have your chance. Your mission is to design a small table keeping in with the style of the current porada furniture collection and values.
The challenge is to interpret the values and identity of Porada, leading brand of Italian design, through the creation of innovative concepts for different types of small tables: end table, service table, coffee table and side table, in which the use of solid wood is prevalent(but not necessarily exclusive).
Who can enter the competition? Well the competition is open to Italian and foreign designers and creative individuals or groups. You don't have to be a furniture design professional to enter, it really can be anyone, this is why we love the idea of giving everyone the chance. There really are no guidelines on getting your first item of furniture out there and on the market.
The competition was announced in Milan on the design week in 2017 and last years winners were displayed in the Porada stand infront of thousands of people in the furniture industry.
Rules: So the rules for the competition are pretty simple and self explanitory. All designs must be original and unpublished. Every item at Porada is made from solid wood so all items must be able to be produced and finished in wood.
